Please see below notice from MSC regarding changes to Advanced Cargo Regulations in Egypt.


EGYPT ADVANCED CARGO REGULATION

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company wishes to advise clients that the new Advance Cargo Information regulations for Egypt come into effect for shipments with a shipped on board date 1st October 2021 onward.

In order to ensure compliance, we request that the following information is provided for all bookings with an ETD of 23rd September 2021 onward.

The below information must be provided at booking stage:

  • ACID number

  • Shipper’s export registration number**

  • Egyptian Importer VAT Number

Shipping Instruction Requirements:

  • 10 digit HS code must be supplied and will be required to be shown in the cargo description on the Bill of Lading

  • ACID must be provided on the Shipping Instruction, ACID must be shown on all shipping documents

  • Tax ID must be provided for all parties on the Bill of Lading, the Tax IDs must be shown on all shipping documents

From 1st October 2021 any non-compliance with the above will result in cargo being refused by Egyptian authorities and returned to Port of Load at Shipper expense.

**Shipper’s export registration number is a 17 digit alphanumeric string comprising of three components:

  • Two letter country code (ISO-3166-1) of the country where exporter (shipper) is registered.

  • Two digits identifying the type of registration number (01 for Company Registry, 02 for VAT)

  • The exporters registration number issued by the relevant authority e.g. NZBN for New Zealand Shippers

  • Sample exporters registration number for New Zealand Shipper: NZ-01-9429047097200
